1. Pick a story from your reading list.
2. Create a spelling list based on the words your student doesn't already know. These will be easy to spot, since your home school student will almost certainly struggle with reading the words.
3. Use a free online spelling game to create a word search or word find. These free online spelling games will help your student develop a sense for how words are spelled.
One of my favorites is the Scholastic Spelling Wizard game.
You can use the free ABC Scholastic Spelling Wizard to create unlimited free word search puzzles or word scramble puzzles online. Your child can play free online or print out.
These word search-word scramble puzzles make excellent additions to the home school work sheet portfolio. And, they provide hours of helpful, wholesome educational fun.
